Campillejo is close to Majalrayo and Campillo de Ranas. Located at the foot of the 2,056 meter-high Ocejón peak. The area belongs to the renowned “Black Architecture towns” (houses built of slate) and the national hunting reserve called Sonsaz.
From the A-II in Guadalajara take detour 59 (Ronda norte) which will lead us directly to the road to Fontanar. This is the CM 101 district leading to Humanes. Once in Humanes we continue towards Tamajón. We pass a village called Razbona, and in Tamajón leave the chapel to your right and keep looking for the signs that appear on the road. On the left side we take the road that leads to Majalrayo. The landscape is worth photographing but it is also quite winding. Following the road, the first town we come across is Campillejo.
Another alternative is to take the NI or Burgos road. We detour at Torrelaguna on the M-102, and pass Patones and Portón de la Oliva. Then we detour again on the M-128 to El Cubillo. At El Cubillo we take the CM 1001 regional road until Puebla de Beleña.
And once in this town we look for the CM 1004 until Tamajón. The rest of the way is the same as the explanation above.
The closest gasoline station is in Humanes, 40 kilometers away. .We advise you to fill the tank in case you want to go on excursions and move about the area. Also, the only automatic teller machine is in Tamajón, so it’s best to bring enough cash because credits cards are not accepted at all places.
